COMMUNITY LANDSCAPING NEWS - posted

It has recently been reported in the Calgary Sun that due to budget constraints the City of Calgary plans to reduce landscaping maintenance in Calgary communities. As the TRA holds the local contract, the cutbacks will NOT affect Tuscany. The City provides an annual landscaping grant to the TRA to cover basic costs, to which the TRA then contributes additonal resources and funding to enhance the community services. We have also allocated extra funding this year to watering the trees due to the recent high mortality rate of these trees. The maintenance grant has not increased in five years, howver the TRA Board has continued to allocate funds to maintain a high level of service.
